In the autumn of 2017, the City Archives of Stockholm asked a question to ArkivIT’s consultants about how to preserve information from Facebook without violating any terms of use. This question led to what has now evolved into Arkiwera.
Before the culture department started using Arkiwera in 2020 to save social media posts, it was a labor-intensive task to make screenshots of the posts from each account. The archivist used to spend a significant number of workdays preserving the digital information .
Arkiwera is an easy-to-use tool, and we are very satisfied!
We no longer need to take screenshots of each landing page every time we make an update.
